PURPOSE:To aim at improvement in machining efficiency, by making setup of a work to a work holding plate, discharge of it from this plate, dimensional measurement for a machined work and its size compensation machining all into automation. CONSTITUTION:A grinder A is provided with a pair of grindstones 1 and 2 set up oppositely with each other at both upper and lower positions each, while a planetary gear type rotary chuck table 5 holding a work to be ground is set up between these grind-stones 1 and 2. A lower limit position detector 12 is installed in an outer circumferential part of a wheel head 1a. As for a work changer B, its vertical shaft 14 capable of rotation around a shaft by a turning motor 13 is provided with three arms, in each of which a work discharge 18 for taking out the work of a work holding plate 8 and a work charger 19 for feeding the work holding plate with the work and a holding plate position detecting sensor are all installed.
