PURPOSE:To improve the recognition factor of the titled device without increasing the cost by reducing the sound volume of an acoustic device to be operated or turning off it at the voice input as an operation instruction. CONSTITUTION:The operator depresses a switch 22 prior to the voice input of the operation instruction. Then a sound erasing instruction signal is outputted from a flip-flop 19 to a sound volume adjusting section 16 to cancel the voice outputted from a sound generating circuit 15 via a speaker 14. When the operator uses a microphone 21 to input the operation instruction in voice at this point of time, the instruction is voice-recognized by a voice recognition section 18 and a control instruction signal is fed to a channel controller 17 to change over the channel. When the voice recognition is finished, a recognition end pulse is fed from the voice recognition section 18 to a reset input terminal R of the flip-flop 19 to reset the flip-flop 19 and the sound volume of a television set is restored to the sound volume before the sound erasure.
