PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric vibrator with small size and excellent CI characteristic and shock resistance by making respectively an outer diameter and an inner diameter corresponding to the plug pressing part of a case before press fit smaller than those of other parts and not increasing the outer diameter of the plug pressing part larger than the outer diameter of the other parts after press fit. CONSTITUTION:The case outer diameter C of the press A of the plug is made smaller than the other diameter B of the other parts of the case and the difference between the case outer diameters B, C is set larger than the quantity of change in the case outer diameter of the part A before and after plug press fit. Thus, the inside of the case is made broader without changing the outer diameter, and the CI characteristic and shock resistance are improved when the size of the piezoelectric vibrator is kept the same.
