PURPOSE:To read accurate lens correction data by using a manual selection means to read correction data when an identification means identifies the absence of a code thereby identifying the presence of a lens identification code. CONSTITUTION:When a lens 11 having a code setting section 11a is loaded to a camera head part 12 and connectors 13a, 13b are connected, a number code and a model code set by switches A1-A6 are read by a CPU 16 via an I/O 17 of the camera head part 12 and sent to a CCU 15 through a camera cable 14. An arithmetic part 15a of the CCU 15 reads automatically a correction data of color balance and correction data for color aberration and distortion depending on the combination corresponding to the code and sends them to a CPU 16. In loading the old type lens without a code setting section, the CPU 16 detects automatically that the loaded lens has a code. In this case, a data file Ms for the RAM area is used to write the correction data such as color balance by automatic adjustment or manual adjustment, and the correction data is read for correction.
