PURPOSE:To solve mercury poison problem and reta rd self discharge by using zinc whose grain boundary is corroded and surface is oxidized as anode active material. CONSTITUTION:The grain boundary of zinc is corroded in such a way that, for example, zinc is immersed in acidic solution or alkaline solution and allowed to stand for a while, or stirred with temperature controlled if necessary. The surface of zinc is oxidized by using oxidizing agent such as permanganate, dichromate, peroxide, or oxyacid. As raw zinc whose grain boundary is corroded and surface is oxidized, zinc alloy with, for example, indium and thallium is used in addition to pure zinc. By using this zinc, mercury poison problem is solved and self discharge is retarded. |
