PURPOSE:To enhance the transfer of heat from a rotary-anode X-ray tube, by making the rotor of the X-ray tube hollow and cylindrical and placing its stator inside the rotor not to cover the rotor and bearings with the stator. CONSTITUTION:A target 1 is made annular and integrally coupled to a hollow cylindrical rotor 3 with a hollow cylindrical support 2. A shaft case 5, which supports the rotor 3 on a bearing 72, is made hollow and cylindrical and fitted with a cylinder 6 made of a material of a material of thigh thermal conductivity. A glass cylinder 81 is provided in the hollow portion of the rotor 3. A stator 12 is provided in the recess A of the glass cylinder 81. A cathode 15 is provided in the face of the target 1. A rotary-anode X-ray tube is thus constructed. Although the stator 12 is located outside an enclosure, the stator is placed in the hollow portion of the hollow cylindrical rotor 3. As a result, the rotor 3 and the bearings are not covered with the stator 12. The transfer of heat from the X-ray tube is thus enhanced to enable the use thereof for a long period of time. |
