PURPOSE:To obtain a tetrafluoroethylene resin compsn. giving moldings which have excellent wear resistance, strength and no void, by heat-treating a phenylene sulfide resin at a high temp. and mixing it with a tetrafluoroethylene resin. CONSTITUTION:A phenylene sulfide resin is heat-treated at 280 deg.C or above, pref. at 300-450 deg.C and optionally crushed into a powder having a particle size of 300mum or below. 1-100pts.wt. heat-treated phenylene sulfide resin is then mixed with 100pts.wt. tetrafluoroethylene resin to obtain the desired tetra- fluoroethylene resin compsn. The compsn. can be compression-molded and processed by firing. The resulting articles such as a sliding member or a tube have improved physical properties due to the phenylene sulfide and no void is formed, while retaining a low coefficient of friction inherent to the tetrafluoroethylene resin. |
