PURPOSE:To prevent shrinkage of a coating film and to obtain a coated article excellent in transparency and surface gloss and good in appearance, by irradiating a coating film with ultraviolet rays in a cold air stream. CONSTITUTION:An ultraviolet curable coating based on an acryl oligomer is applied to an article and dried. The formed coating film is cured by blowing cold air of -30-10 deg.C at a velocity of 1-5m/sec against one or both sides or in all of the upward, downward, leftward and rightward directions, if necessary, and at the same time irradiating it with ultraviolet rays at a dose of 500-3,000J/cm<2> in the same direction as in the blowing of cold air stream.
