PURPOSE:To reduce the gradient of torque to be transmitted in a planetary geared transmission for eliminating the shock of N-R shifting, by keeping the gear engagement in a state of over-drive for about one second prior to engagement with rear gear. CONSTITUTION:A controller of automatic transmission is equipped with an electric circuit (computer) which puts out a control signal for changing gear in accordance with the state of traveling, and the output actuates No.1 solenoid valve 320 for controlling a 2-3 shift valve 230 and No.2 solenoid valve 330 for controlling 1-2 shift valve 220 and 3-4 shift valve 240. A flow control valve 290 and an accumulator 260 are so set that a brake 19 which is to be engaged with an over-drive gear is actuated when a manual valve 210 is in N and the over-drive mechanism is set for the over-drive gear for a preset time in case of N-R shifting. |
