PURPOSE:To display simultaneously plural picture signals by displaying a present television picture and other different picture on the wide displaying screen of a high definition television, etc., at the part outside the area as a sub-signal. CONSTITUTION:A main signal 21 and sub-signals 22 and 22' are once stored in one line memory 5 for scanning lines respectively. A scanning convertion is executed by one line memory 5, the sub-signals 22 and 22' are mounted after the main signal 21 for respective fields and an output signal 23 is obtained. The output signal 23 is outputted to a display part 1 which uses a CRT. By making the reading speed larger than the writing speed, for the writing and reading of these signals, plural signal pictures can be displayed. By such a constitution, the signal is changed over from a high definition television signal to a present television signal, the size of the main signal is reduced from an aspect ratio 3:5 to 3:4, and then, sub-signal pictures 3 and 4, which are not apparently minded, are reflected at the other side of a main signal picture 2 and then the main signal picture 2 is easy to see. |
