MAGNETIC FLUX QUANTUM LOGIC ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR LOGIC CONSTITUTION

PURPOSE:To effect various logic operations by connecting the first and second Josephson lines and inputting two magnetic flux quanta into the irst line and determin- CONSTITUTION:Josephson lines JTL are formed of an Nb2O5 thin film and a JTL 1 comprises a connection line JTL1T and a reflection path JTL1R and is connected to JTL2 by a resistance RC. The terminals of the JTL1 and JTL2 are terminated by the RT respectively. A voltage pulse 6 is inputted from a terminal 4 and is propagated over the JTL 1 as an isolated wave existing locally and drive currents I1 and I2 are supplied to the lines. The offered flux quantum is amplified into two flux quanta phi0 in the JTL 1. Those are attenuated in the Rc and interfere mutually in the JTL 2. When the I1 and I2 are in low level, the region (insular region) where the mutual interference occurs exists. By using the drive current of this propagation threshold value, only the determi nation of I1 and I2 can realize a negative logic and other various logic operations and also an addition circuit function can be realized by combining the same element structure.
