PURPOSE:To prevent the wasteful consumption of a ribbon, by constituting the titled mechanism so as to release the taking-up of the ribbon in conjunction with the retraction movement of a head. CONSTITUTION:When on printing is performed, a second guide shaft 3 is rotated around a first guide shaft 2 to retract a carriage. Whereupon, a friction clutch gear is brought to a state pressed to a rack 19 and a link 13 is rotated around a first post 12 and the meshing of a first gear 7 and the second gear 15 on the friction clutch gear is released to form such a state that the rotation of the friction clutch gear is not transmitted to a drive shaft 6. At the time of printing, the link 13 is rotated to a left direction by the recovery force of a tensile spring 21 along with head-down movement to mesh the first gear 7 and the second gear 15 and the rotation of the friction clutch gear is transmitted to the take-up reel of a ribbon cassette. |
