NEW MATERIAL:A compound obtained by removing partially an amino acid from a human interleukin 2 polypeptide having an amino acid sequence shown by the formula. USE:A remedy for immune incompetence or a drug for antitumor immunotherapy. PREPARATION:For example, a bacterium such as Escherichia coli is transformed by using a recombinant plasmid obtained by integrating a DNA fragment to code a human interleukin 2 polypeptide derivative into the downstream of a tryptophan promoter. The transformed bacterium is cultivated in a medium, the interleukin 2 polypeptide derivative is formed and accumulated in the medium, and it is collected from the culture mixture to give the human interleukin 2 polypeptide derivative.
