PURPOSE:To smoothen application of jobs that uses a magnetic tape device and improve efficiency of processing of whole system by recording jobs in an allotting request table in order of putting in and making specified number of jobs from the head objects of allotting at the time of actual allotting. CONSTITUTION:An allotting request table AT, allotting judging section A and a device controlling table CT are provided in the device controlling section DC of the system. Codes of jobs J put in are registered in the job code column 1, and execution priority order is registered in the execution priority order column 2 of the table AT in order of request for allotting of magnetic tape devices M1-M4 from job J. It is recorded whether each device M1-M4 is allotted or not in the allotting state column 3 of the device CT. When vacancy occurred in devices M1-M4, the controlling section DC compares specified number of jobs from the head of the table AT, and if order of priority of jobs J is not equal, jobs of higher priority are allotted to vacant devices M1-M4, and if priority is equal, jobs of earlier acceptance are allotted.
