PURPOSE:To maintain the moisture content of a developing agent in a developing device below a prescribed value, by providing a fan heater inside the housing of the developing device. CONSTITUTION:A ventilating drum 8 is provided at a location which is above a developing device 1 and far from a developing agent 7 and a fan heater 9 is provided at one side end of the ventilating drum 8. The ventilating drum 8 is communicated with the housing 3 of the developing device 1 and the fan heater 9 is controlled in accordance with the degree of the moisture inside the developing device 1. When the fan heater 9 is actuated and warm air is blown into the developing device 1 from the ventilating drum 8 at the time of stand-by before starting this copying machine, the warm air can absorb the moisture inside the housing since the relative moisture of the warm air becomes lower due to its high temperature, even though the absolute moisture of the warm air is the same as that inside the housing. |
