PURPOSE:To enable a long term repitition of charging at constant current and discharging at constant resistance without lowering performance due to deterioration of polymer by using a specified polymer as at least either one of electrodes of positive or negative pole. CONSTITUTION:In a secondary battery consisting of a positive pole, a negative pole and electrolyte, a polymer having construction unit expressed in the formula I (where, R<1>, R<2> show hydrogen atom, halogen atom, alkyl group, alcoxy group, allyl group, allyloxy group, nitro group and cyano group) as at least either one of positive and negative poles is used. Such a polymer can be obtained by polymerizing acenaphthylene compound shown in the formula II by well known method. Or such as electric charge transfer complex made by reacting an electron receiving chemical compound to the polymer having construction unit shown in the formula I can be used. The amount of polymer to be used is selected from the range from about 0.05 to 100 weight times the amount of conductive material. |
