PURPOSE:To obtain a negative uniform and sufficient triboelectrified amt. by coating the surface of the carrier of a binary developer with a silicone resin and incorporating a specified metal complex in a toner. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the carrier of the binary dry type developer is coated with a silicone resin of formula I, R being H, halogen, hydroxy, methoxy, phenyl, or lower alkyl, and the toner contains a metal complex of formula II in which (a), (b) are each an aromatic ring or a cyclohexene ring optionally substd. by 4-9 C alkyl; R1, R2 are each H, 4-9 C alkyl, or substituent optionally forming an aromatic ring or cyclohexene ring optionally substd. by 4-9 C alkyl; M is Cr, Co, or Fe; and X is a counter ion. The coating of the carrier with the silicone resin of formula I and the addition of the metal complex of formula II into the toner permits the toner to be negatively and uniformly triboelectrified up to a charge amt. of 20-30 muc, and the developer to be long in life. |
