CONSTITUTION:To realize an excellent image density, it is necessary to cover a photosensitive body with toner as much as possible and it is desirable to set d 0.8D to obtain the practically usable maximum image density. The reason why a sufficient image density of a toner image can be obtained on a transferred and fixed transfer paper even when d 0.8D on the photosensitive body is due to the expansion of toner dots by the fixing process. When the (d) is gradually increased against the (D), the color balance becomes largely different by the sticking order of the toner image of each color to the photosensitive body as the (d) beyond a limit of d D. When the (d) becomes d>=1.5D, this trend is intensified and a toner image formed later tends to be put below previous toner dots and concealed by the previous toner dots. Therefore, it is desirable to set the (d) at 0.8<=d<=1.5D.
