PURPOSE:To improve high fidelity recording and reproduction by providing a head block device having two tape restricting guides at least one of upper and lower sides of tape running in a magnetic head slided to a magnetic tape so as to promote highly accurate head touch as much as possible with simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic tape runs, the tape running is subject to position regulation to a head by the 2nd tape guide 31 of the head block device 32 and a minute running position correction is applied to the track of the head at the 1st tape guide 30. Some flaws are generated to the magnetic tape corresponding to the head at the 2nd tape guide 31, but since the flaw is corrected minutely by the 1st tape guide 30 especially, highly accurate head touch is applied to promote effectively the recording and reproduction with high fidelity.
