PURPOSE:To make a storage device small-sized and transmit data in a high speed by storing compressed data in the host-side program storage device and transmitting this data to a terminal equipment and providing an encoder in the terminal equipment side to expand this data into an original program. CONSTITUTION:An encoder 16 is provided additionally in a conventional terminal equipment, and program data from the host system is given to a RAM 13 through an interface circuit 14 and a bus 15. Compressed program data to which original program data is compressed by 1/5 is stored on a magnetic disc, and this compressed program data PD0 is transferred from the host system to each terminal equipment. In the terminal equipment, the encoder 16 expands this data PD0 to obtain original program data PD1, and this data is given to the RAM 13. Thus, the quantity of data PD0 to be transferred for rise of a computer system is reduced to a 1/5 conventional quantity, and the rise time is shortened considerably. Further, the capacity of the magnetic disc is made small.
