PURPOSE:To make possible additional data recording while maintaining time code continuity by outputting time code data in synchronism with the synchronizing signals sequentially from the preset data computed on the basis of the time code data at the final recording point. CONSTITUTION:The time code data recorded simultaneously with input data are supplied to the encoder 9 through a switch 28 from a time code generator 11 placed under control of a system controller 1. An optical pickup 5 is moved to a final recording point of the pre-recorded data and returned towards the inner periphery of the disk by a number of frames sufficient to apply the synchronization during the additional recording. For synchronization with the reproduction synchronizing signals from the decoder 10, synchronization permission signals are supplied from the system controller 1 to the encoder 9. The output on timing signals in which the signal processing delay time is compensated in the encoder 9 is outputted and the system controller 1 starts its recording. The encoder output on signal and the record signal are outputted to start recording on the disk 4.
