The present invention relates to devices of the bell type intended for collecting wave energy. The upper part of the bell encloses a reservoir 7 of compressed air whose bottom 9 is of conical shape directed downwards and securely fastened to a conical vault 10 pointed upwards. The apex of the cone of the vault 10 comprises a valve 14 for shutting off the reservoir 7 under which valve is arranged a shutter with a float constituting a perforated vertical skirt 16 enclosing a float 17 whose seat 20 is situated under the valve 14. The upper part of the skirt 16 forms, together with the apex of the vault 10, a chamber 21 for pneumatically damping the waves. The invention finds its application in the field of automatically operated marker buoys. <IMAGE>
