The present invention relates to a novel, optical smoke detector based on the diffusion from a luminous point source the diffusion variation of which is sensed by a suitably oriented phototransistor with specific sensitivity. The detector is characterised by: - two pulse-type light point sources placed in a black box with baffles; - a suitably oriented receiver phototransistor intended for receiving the diffused light; - an electronic velocimetric circuit for detection; - an electronic circuit distinguishing between an alarm and a fault phenomenon. The present invention is used for detection of smoke and combustion gas in various premises such as factories, shops, depots, archives, dwellings, etc. <IMAGE> |
