PURPOSE:To produce high-purity TeO2 at a low cost, by evaporating Te in a vacuum distillation apparatus, introducing the Te vapor into a vacuum oxidization apparatus, and oxidizing the vapor with air. CONSTITUTION:The vacuum distillation apparatus 1 charged with the raw material Te 4 is heated at 600-750 deg.C with the heater 5 under a vacuum of 0.1-5mmHg. The evaporated Te vapor is introduced through the connection tube 3 furnished with the heat-retaining apparatus 6 into the vacuum oxidization apparatus 2 and oxidized with air introduced through the air-inlet pipe 8. The produced TeO2 10 is recovered in the recovering vessel 11.
