PURPOSE:To variably generate a swirl and improve combustion performance of an engine when it is low loaded, by providing a subvalve port, which connects a new charge communication port opened in an intake port with a subnew charge outlet hole, while a subvalve, opening and closing this subvalve port, in said subvalve port. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder head 1 forms an exhaust port 3, internally providing two exhaust valves 2, and an intake port 5 internally providing two intake valves 4. And a new charge S from the intake port 5 is introduced into a combustion chamber 6 through the intake valves 4, further exhaust E after combustion is discharged to the exhaust port 3 through the exhaust valves 2. An engine in the above provides in the cylinder head 1 a subvalve port 7 which connects a new charge communication port 12, opened in the intake port 5, with a subnew charge outlet hole 9. And the engine provides in the port 7 a subvalve 10 which can open and close it by on-off operation of a solenoid valve 8 in an operative piston part 11 controllable by working fluid H. |
