PURPOSE:To obtain product having high strength and toughness under severe use condition, by specifying particle diameter of dispersion phase and sintering condition of three steps composed of primary sintering, high pressure heating and the final heating, in manufacturing the titled alloy having binding phase composed of Co. CONSTITUTION:Average particle diameter of material powder composing component forming dispersion phase composed mainly of WC is regulated to <=1mu, and the sintering condition is prescribed as follows. Namely, at first the powder is sintered preliminarily by heating and holding it at 1,300-1,400 deg.C in nitrogen atmosphere whose pressure is decreased. Next, high pressure heating is applied by heating and holding the sintered body at 1,300-1,400 deg.C in pressed AR or nitrogen atmosphere of >=100atm. Finally, the body is heated and held at 1,300-1,430 deg.C in vacuum or nitrogen atmosphere whose pressure is decreased. Thereby, WC base sintered hard alloy having high strength and toughness in which dispersion phase forming component composed mainly of WC is regulated to <=1mu average particle diameter and binding phase forming component are dispersed uniformly and finely, is obtd.
