The invention relates to an installation and a method for distributing and invoicing liquid hydrocarbons, which are adapted to computer management. On the surface at the distribution site, the distribution stations P comprise dispensing-nozzle taps R and an individual display device VI for the information which is strictly necessary, without a measurer 5 or a degasser 6. According to the invention, the installation comprises a pumping apparatus which is common to several stations and which has a variable flow rate as a function of the number of open taps, the information which is not strictly necessary to the user is displayed on a general display device VG comprising fewer locations corresponding to display stations than there are distribution stations P, and the display locations are allocated to the stations as these become free.
