PURPOSE:A rubber composition having high hardness, improved processing properties, providing a cured material having improved breaking strength and permanent set, obtained by blending ethylene.alpha-olefin nonconjugated diene copolymer rubber with a specific low-molecular weight polychloroprene rubber. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. copolymer rubber of ethylene, an alpha-olefin (preferably propylene), and a nonconjugated diene (preferably 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene and/or dicylopentadiene) having 50-80wt% ethylene content and 20-50wt% alpha-olefin content based on ethylene and alpha-olefin contents of the polymer, 2-40, preferably 5-30 iodine value of nonconjugated diene content in the polymer is blended with (B) 5-30pts.wt., preferably 5-20pts.wt. low-molecular weight polychloroprene rubber having 200-2,000Pa.sec viscosity (spindle No.7 of Brookfield type viscometer, 2 RPM, at 50 deg.C). |
