PURPOSE:An aqueous antifouling coating compound having improved antifouling performance and performance of film of coating, obtained by adding a nitrite to aqueous emulsion of a polymer having a specific glass transition temperature obtained by polymerizing a nonionic hydrophilic monomer, etc. in the presence of a dialkylsulfosuccinate. CONSTITUTION:The aimed antifouling coating compound obtained by adding (B) 0.05-5wt% nitrite to (A) aqueous emulsion of a polymer having >=20% chemical stability and -20-60 deg.C glass transition temperature, obtained by polymerizing (i) a monomer mixture comprising 1.0-4.0wt% nonionic monomer, 0.3wt% carboxyl group-containing vinyl monomer, and the rest of an aromatic vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene) and (meth)acrylic acid ester by the use of (ii) 0.1-5.0wt% dialkylsulfosuccinate (e.g., alkali metallic salt or ammonium salt of dicyclohexylsulfosuccinic acid) having >=40dye/cm surface tension in an aqueous medium.
