This prosthesis comprises, on the one hand, a humeral element 2 comprising a head 7 in the shape of a spherical cap linked, through the centre of its internal face, to an anchoring rod 9 intended to be engaged and fixed in the medullary canal of the humerus 4, after resection of its head, and, on the other hand, a glenoid element 3 in the shape of a portion of a spherical cap intended to be applied, through its external convex face 3a, against the glenoid cavity 6, and whose internal concave face 3b, having the same radius as the spherical head 7 of the humeral element 2, is intended to act as a support therefor, means being provided in order to allow it to be fixed to the glenoid cavity 6. <IMAGE>
