PURPOSE:To output a desired document in a simple form by sending the text of a frame included in an original document to a converting means from a memory means in accordance with the prescribed frame priority for production of a desired sentence and delivering this sentence according to the frame priority. CONSTITUTION:An automatic Japanese-English interpreting device is provided with an interpreting part 10 which performs the interpreting function, an editor 12 which edits documents, an image scanner 14 serving as a system input device, a keyboard 16, an input control part 18, a display device 20, a display control part 22, a document fiber memory part 24 and a translated sentence temporary memory part 26. The editor 12 is equal to a document editing device which works in response to a command of an operator supplied from the keyboard 16. Then the editor 12 produces a document file 34 and stores the data transferred from the part 18 to the part 24. The contents of this transferred data are replaced and a desired sentence text of the part 26 is stored in a frame contents record 40.
