Swivel joint, in particular for a vehicle tailgate, with a joint bearing in which a shaft is rotatably mounted and which comprises two bearing-shell parts which can be latched together. To fix the shaft axially in the joint bearing without impairing the axial adjustability of the shaft, an inner tooth extending in a radial plane of the shaft is formed on at least one of the bearing-shell parts while an outer toothing in engagement with the inner tooth and consisting of outer teeth extending in radial planes of the shaft is formed either on the shaft or on a bearing bush which receives the shaft in such a way that it is rotatable but axially fixed and which is held fixed in terms of rotation in the joint bearing.
