A signal-processing device which is accommodated in a closed hand-held housing, the following being provided on the outside of the housing: a display area, facing the operating person, with LCD elements for analog and/or digital character representations, operating elements also facing the operating person and at least one connection for analog input signals, the display area forming a matrix-like display with more than 50 times 50 pixels, and the following being provided: an analog/digital converter following the connection for analog input signals, and a digital processing section, following the analog/digital converter, for program-controlled analog representation of input signal amplitudes in the form of a wave train in dependence on signal states triggered by the operating elements.
