PURPOSE:To prevent magnetic sheet deformation and magnetic head damage by providing a stabilizing plate for stabilizing a magnetic sheet at the position of the magnetic head and a means for retreating the magnetic sheet and the stabilizing plate. from the magnetic head with the cassette being immobilized. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic sheet 2 on a disk is rotatably stored in the cassette while there are provided an aperture for inserting the stabilizing plate 14 and an aperture for inserting the magnetic head 16. A life member 24 for retreating the sheet 2 and the stabilizing plate 14 is movable vertically while an arm 24c faces a step 14c of the stabilizing plate 14. In the lowered state of the member 24, a projection 24 a of the member 24 is dropped into an aperture 15a of the regulating plate 14 so that the projection 24 is in approximately coincident with the sheet opposing surface of the plate 14 and it is interlocked with the plate 15 at the time of the rotation of the sheet 2. The step 14c is raised by the arm 24c in the raised state of the member 24 while the sheet 2 is also raised by the projection 24a. In such a manner, the sheet 2 is retreating from the head 16 unless required.
