<p>The present invention relates to a receptacle (10) for use on a flat multiconductor cable (16). The receptacle (10) includes contact means (66, 68, 70) each having an insulation piercing portion (76, 90), adapted for registration with and electrical connection to individual conductors in the cable (16). A conductive contacting member (22) is arranged, distinct from but adjacent to one of the contact means. The conductive contacting member (22) has an insulation piercing portion and is adapted for electrical connection to the same conductor as is the contacting means with which it is associated.</p> |
