Method and device for controlling the air throughput quantities in a central ventilation and heating installation (5) with incoming-air ducts (7) which lead directly or via air distributors (9) to individual rooms (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) to be ventilated, throttle flaps (25) being provided in the individual incoming-air ducts and, in the individual rooms (3.1, 3.2, 3.3), temperature measuring devices (T), via which, using a central evaluation device, the air quantities supplied to the individual rooms (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) are adjusted by displacement of the throttle flaps. It is in this case envisaged that the air serving for heating and ventilating is guided through a heating device (21) before its distribution to individual incoming-air ducts (7.1, 7.2, 7.3) for individual rooms (3.1, 3.2, 3.3). A heated heating-air quantity is supplied with priority to the individual rooms (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) until the heating target is reached. In the periods of stoppage of the heating device (25), an additional, unheated ventilating air quantity is supplied via the same incoming-air ducts (7.1,.7.2, 7.3) to each individual room (3.1, 3.2, 3.3) until the overall ventilation target is reached, the overall air supply, consisting of heated and unheated air, being predetermined for each individual room and proportioned by the storing evaluation device (29) by opening and closing the throttle flaps (25). <IMAGE>
