The invention relates to a seal consisting of a sealing ring provided with a casing. In order to make the replacement of such a seal simpler, quicker and less expensive and to avoid the danger of damage to the parts to be sealed, the sealing ring is arranged interchangeably and removably in an annular recess in the inner surface of the annular casing. On its side opposite the sealing side, the sealing ring has two all-round ribs offset from the edge and spaced apart and the annular casing is provided, in its inner surface, with annular grooves complementary to the ribs and spaced apart, in which the sealing ring is arranged removably by means of its ribs.
