摘要 PURPOSE:To accurately identify an area by totalizing frequently a temporary representative pair length with at least one side of the small area of coordinate position adjacent to a main/bus scan direction and calculating the pair length appeared most frequently. CONSTITUTION:After the number of a picture element that is read out by a main scan in counted by a picture element counter 1 and the number of inverting times is counted by a change marks counter 2, they are added to the pair length of a memory 3 and are stored as an appearance frequency number. At the next,a pair length with a maximum appearance frequency is counted at a comparator 5 and in every section length l by a counter 6, the number of the maximum appearance frequency is approved at a comparator 9 and is outputted as a temporary representative quantity and is written to a memory 10. The next scan is performed same as the above and the quantity is written to a memory 11. Furthermore, the result by the main scan is memorized at a selecting circuit 12 and memories 13 and 14 and by deciding the temporary representative pair length out of two groups of two memories 13 and 14 at a decision circuit 15, the group of the representative pair length is obtained.
