In a device for improving the air in enclosed spaces, in which a blower for moving sucked-in spatial air through a housing intake opening and through an electrostatic precipitator serving to precipitate dust particles and aerosol particles and, downstream of the latter, through a used air opening in the blower is provided in a housing, the electrostatic precipitator being removably arranged in the housing, there is provision according to the invention for an electrode which is connected into the flow path of the air outside the precipitator to be provided in the device and to serve as a spray electrode, which is present in addition to the spray electrodes of the electrostatic precipitator, for the purpose of ionising the air leaving the electrostatic precipitator, a fibre filter mat being arranged in the flow direction of the air behind the electrode, the one surface of which mat is electrically conductive and guides the flowing air past a further electrode which is known per se and serves for the additional ionisation of the used air.
