A device for cleaning chimneys with a lower drop weight (19) and an upper suspension eye (15) for a pull cable has two supports (11) which are interconnected via a joint (10) and which in each case at the joint (10) are divided into a lower short support leg (12) and an upper long support leg (13), a projecting cutter (22) being arranged on the outside at the end of each upper support leg (13) facing away from the joint (10). When such a device is let down inside a smoke pipe, the cutters (22) scrape fuel residues, which have become attached there, off from the smoke pipe surfaces. <IMAGE>
