<p>The insert (6) has a more or less U-shaped cross-section. It is rigid and is pressed onto a part (3) of the frame (1) specially thinned for this purpose (i.e. a core) in a direction more or less perpendicular to the plane of the lenses (2). On the inner side it has a groove (7) which, on assembly, extends and completes the encircling retaining rim (4) of the frame (1). The insert is set around the core (3) using a seating (8) defined by the U shape. The front surfaces (5, 9) of the frame (1) and of the insert (6) coincide.
