PURPOSE:To reliably store a sheet in a desired sorting rack without the occurrence of a paper jam by disposing a brush guide member for regulating and preventing cave-in deformation of an advancing sheet between transport belts where sheet take-in claw members are positioned. CONSTITUTION:During a downward advancement of a sheet A, when claw members 7A, 7B belonging to a specified sorting rack 2A are inclined, the leading edge of the sheet P is caught by claw members 7A, 7B and nipped between a pair of driving rollers 8 to be stored in a sorting rack 2A. As a brush 14 is positioned at the back of the advancing sheet A clamped between the transport belt 5 and a pinch roll 6 to follow the belt 5, cave-in and deformation of the sheet P due to wind pressure are regulated and prevented, so that a paper jam can be reliably prevented without a failure in catching the sheet P.
