PURPOSE:To regenerate semipermeable membrane easily by washing the semipermeable membrane having deteriorated filtration capacity by allowing the membrane to contact with an oxidizing agent or an org. solvent, washing with water and then allowing the membrane to contact with an org. solvent or an oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A module comprising semipermeable membrane which is not affected by a detergent is used for filtration of fermentation liquid. The module having been deteriorated in the filtration capacity is washed by circulating an oxidizing agent such as NaClO or H2O2, etc. The membrane is then washed with water, and washed further by dipping in an org. solvent such as ethylene glycol monobutylether, etc., and washed with water again. Or, the membrane is washed in the first stage with an org. solvent, washed with water and then washed with an oxidizing agent.
