PURPOSE:To restrain generation of wrinkles and permit to manufacture the good prepreg stably by a method wherein a taper roll, whose diameter is increased from the central section to both ends thereof, is employed as a transfer roll for air drying process and an air speed at the central section of the taper roll is designed so as to coincide with the transfer speed of a base material while the base material is transferred under being abutted against the taper roll. CONSTITUTION:The taper roll 9 is designed so as to have the taper configuration having outer diameters D1 of both end sections, which are larger than the same D0 of the central section, and the outer diameter D1 is larger than the same D0 by 20-500mum. The taper roll 9 is provided with parallel sections which have the same diameters D1 as the terminals of the tapered sections. Both sides of the sheet-like base material 2, which are contacting with the taper roll 9, are contacted with the parallel sections of the taper roll 9 and the circumferential speed of any section is equal at these sections, therefore, the sheet-like base material is not applied with any widthwise force and only a force in the transfer direction thereof is applied, therefore, the meandering of the sheet-like base material 2, which is due to the application of a force of widthwise direction at the tapered section, may be prevented. |
