PURPOSE:To enable a position to be assigned at the level of resolution of a printer, by a system wherein a theoretical region with the same size as that of a printing paper is formed, and a relative address corresponding to an absolute address in the region is inputted as a printing position. CONSTITUTION:In the case of bit map development of information on a memory 17, a theoretical region named a frame is formed in the same region size as that of the printing paper, and a printing position is assigned by varying the addresses of the frame (x-direction, y-direction). The assignment of position is performed by an input from a keyboard-display 15a connected to a CPU 15. A frame with the same size as that of an actual developing region (e) in which bit map development of information of character strings (c) and images (d) is carried out is formed, and the left top address (x1, y1) and the right bottom address (x2, y2) are varied, whereby the printing position is adjusted. Accordingly, a highly accurate printing position can be obtained through simple operation.
