<p>1. An intake air mixer for an internal combustion engine (1) the mixer comprising a housing fitted with a hot air inlet duct (108, a cold air inlet duct (11) in which a flap (20) is maintained by resilient retaining means (50, 51, 52) in a position where it closes said duct, and an outlet duct for mixed air, said mixer further including means for actuating said flap (20) and being characterized by the fact that it comprises : a first wax probe (21) situated in said cold air inlet duct (11) and having a rod liable to be extended when it is subjected to a temperature greater than t1 , said rod (31) being associated with means for disengaging said resilient retaining means (50, 51, 52), the flap (20) being capable of being partially opened in a manner which is not subject to the load of the resilient retaining means (50, 51, 52) when the probe (21) is subjected to a temperature lying between t1 and t2 , and said flap being capable of being completely opened in a manner which is not subject to the load of the resilient means (50, 51, 52) when the probe is subjected to a temperature greater than t2 , the means for actuating said flap (20) comprising a second wax probe (22) situated in said mixed air duct (14), with the rod (32) of the second probe being suitable for extending when the probe is subjected to a temperature lying between t3 and t4 , where t3 is greater t2 , and being associated with linkage co-operating with said closure flap (20) in order to open said flap, even against the force of the resilient retaining means (50, 51, 52) when not disengaged therefrom, should the temperature of the air mixture be greater than t3 .</p> |
