<p>In a detergent distributor for a washing machine, between feed and discharge openings of a basin the body portion of the basin (12) is of an asymmetric cross-section and in association therewith a vertical baffle (15) whose cross-section is the same as that of the basin (12) can be inserted removably by means of guide elements (17) within the basic (12) in a first operative position Fig. 2 for liquid detergent in which it closes off at least the lower part of the flow section of the basin (12) and constitutes a skimming wall for the fluids overflowing from the container defined between same and the feed opening of the basin (12), and in a second operative position, Figs. 3, 4, for solid detergent in which it is rotated through 180 DEG about its vertical axis and, by geometrical interference between its cross-section and that of the basin (12), its lower edge remains raised from the bottom of the basin and together therewith defines a flow aperture (18) for the fluids from the region between the baffle (15) and the feed opening of the basin (12). A siphon (16), included in the separation baffle has a suction intake aperture (19) and a discharge aperture (20) which are disposed in a plane that is almost parallel to the bottom of the basin (12) in each operative position of the baffle (15). The guide elements comprise two parallel ribs (17) which project from the bottom and from the sides of the compartment (12) for guiding therebetween the baffle and cooperating with the baffle, to form a seal when the baffle is in said first operative position. <IMAGE></p> |
