In the first stage of mfr. one (9) of the connection wires is welded to the hub of an aluminium disc (6). An insulating ring (7) and rubber sealing ring (8) are then fitted over the hub. The foil sandwich (2) of the capacitor is then wound onto a pin (3) which protrudes from the lower face of the disc. One plate is connected to the pin (3) and the other is connected to the edge of the disc (6). The outer aluminium casing (1) of the capacitor is then slid over the winding so that the lower end of the pin is in contact with the bottom of the case. The other connection wire (10) is then welded onto the bottom of the case and through onto the end of the pin (3). The case is then crimped (13) onto the winding and the disc is tilted and rotated to break the thin-necked connection between the disc (6) and the pin (3). The disc is then raised clear of the pin and crimped in place at the top of the case.
