The machine has a rotor 18 of the flux concentration type including a shaft 36 on which rest six permanent magnets 44 of the high energy type between which the pole pieces 34 are disposed, made of magnetic ferrosilicon metal sheet and a stator 14 having a carcase made of ferrosilicon magnetic metal sheet in which a plurality of semi-closed notches 30 are formed which receive induced windings 28, and which defines an air gap 22 with the rotor 18. According to the invention, thanks to suitable dimensioning of the magnetic structure, based on the initial choice of the bore diameter, a maximum specific power can be obtained with the use of ordinary magnetic sheets. Application especially to driving on-board industrial shafts. (Figure 2)
