Process comprises (a) placing UV polystyrene granules in a hopper and adding colourants; (b) melting the mixt. by heating to 140 deg.C with stirring, to produce a homogeneous paste; (c) transferring the mixt. to the hopper of an injection moulding machine; (d) forcing the material into the moulds; (f) filling the moulds; (g) trimming the moulds to obtain hot plates or sheets; (h) manually deforming the mouldings into the desired shape while still hot, to fit the element to be decorated; and (i) drying the plates to obtain a sheet with transparency to give an attractive colour and diffusion of light.
